This presentation outlines the ASADA's current system, challenges, completed work since losing the ability to issue water letters, next steps, and the August 17, 2022 letter from AyA detailing requirements for technical feasibility and water letters. While progress may not always be visible, the Board of Directors has been actively working with engineers, topographers, Enso, the Lomas OA Board President, developers, community members, AyA, lawyers, and the Artola ASADA to find the best path forward. Special thanks to Jamie & Kanish from Enso and Mugs for donating land for a new tank, as well as developers who contributed properties for Tank 2 and the well. Chris Christensen’s technical expertise has been invaluable, and Vice President Jacquie’s determination has been instrumental. The ASADA thrives through community support—we deeply appreciate your involvement and, of course, your donations! Next steps include submitting the results of the 72-hour stress and Water Quality Tests to AyA, along with property ownership documentation and registered easements. Once processed, AyA and MINAE in San Jose will review our application for a water concession, which could take 6 to 12 months. At that point, completing community easements (estimated at 12 months) will be the final step in issuing permanent water letters. We hope AyA will recognize our progress and consider allowing Provisional Water Letters, though this is only speculation. We remain committed to keeping you informed.
